Wow, multimedia about schools is breaking out all over the place. First New Jersey, now California. [Update: um, this was released in 2007. Obviously I have been living under a rock. Or just wasn't fully switched on to these issues at the time.]
Again I ask, We live in one of the centers for documentary filmmaking in US. Who is making a film about Montgomery County? So many interesting issues.

I really wanted to like this, but the overlapping voices were so annoying. It’s a trailer for a movie, but I’m wondering if the movie will be any good, seeing what a hash the trailer is.
On the other hand, as someone who had to pull her daughter out of a “high-performing” public school district, I’m thrilled to see discussions springing up about the many problems of these schools.
Oh my! I got goosebumps. I want to see this movie. Can we schedule a public showing in MoCo sometime soon?
Silver Spring Mom,
Hello, I work in PRI’s marketing department.
I just saw your post. If you are still interested in a screening, please feel free to contact me at kgorton@pacificresearch.org and I will provide you with a screening kit and free DVD.
I live in one of the underperforming affluent districts discussed in the “Not As Good As You Think” book. I haven’t yet seen the documentary so I don’t know if it’s in there. Part of the trailer looks like it might’ve been filmed in my town, but so much of suburban Bay Area looks very similar and therefore I’m not sure.
